Flying Canoe (Canoë volant) is a tune inspired by the French-Canadian legend, Chasse-galerie. The lumberjacks make a pact with the devil to use the flying canoe for one night in order to visit their loved ones back home. The spell that you hear in the recording is “Acabris! Acabras! Acabram! Fais-nous voler par-dessus les montagnes!” which translates to ‘make us fly over the mountains!’
